Biography
Karla A. Hall is a global enterprise and operational risk executive with 20+ years building, transforming, and leading second-line risk organizations across banking, capital markets, payments, and fintech. As Managing Director and Global Head of Assessments and Operational Risk Strategy at Goldman Sachs, she leads enterprise risk strategy across the firm's major businesses, including the redesign of its risk appetite framework and development of AI-enabled governance capabilities. Previously, as Segment Chief Risk Officer at FIS, Karla built the second-line risk organization from the ground up, led a 30-person team, and oversaw 35 regulatory examinations with zero material findings. Her career also includes senior risk roles at Oppenheimer, Barclays, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley, with experience spanning risk appetite, capital, controls, regulatory engagement, and Board-level risk oversight. Karla serves on the Board of Advisors for the Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John's University and as a Director of The Pink Pearls Foundation of New Jersey. She is a frequent industry speaker, most recently addressing AI governance in financial services at the 2026 FMA Applied Finance Conference.
